What’s new

Improved PI scoping options

Admins can now configure a PI so features (Jira epics) appear automatically based on either a Jira filter or Jira Plans dates.

These options are available in Ativo → Settings → PI.

There are now several ways to manage which Features appear on the PI plan board:

Show Features automatically using a PI filter
When a PI epic filter is used, it may be worth switching to Show Features automatically (PI filter). This mode adds matching Features directly to the board, so the extra manual Add Epic step on the plan board is no longer needed.
Show Features automatically using Jira Plans dates
For organizations doing portfolio planning in Jira Plans (Advanced Roadmaps), Show Features automatically (date match) is now available. In this mode, Features are included automatically when their planned dates in Jira Plans overlap with the PI dates.
Continue using manual scoping
Manual scoping in Ativo remains fully supported. In this setup, no PI Feature filter is used, and Ativo is used to add or remove epics on the PI plan board. Epics can still be bulk imported based on status.

Updated SAFe and Jira terminology

SAFe terms are now shown more prominently across Ativo Programs, using ART and PI. Classic terms, such as program and period, may still appear in some places as a familiar reference.

Ativo Programs also uses Jira’s newer term work item instead of issue in more places.

Find out why a work item is or isn’t shown

On the PI plan board, you can now use Find your item from the top navigation’s more menu (···) to check why a work item is or isn’t shown.

This should make it easier to debug the configuration.

Add work items to a search filter from the PI plan board

You can now add work items to a search filter directly from the PI plan board’s right-click menu.

To include dependencies, select Add linked items in the filter bar.

Progress and cycle metrics fix

This release also fixes progress and cycle metrics for work items with unassigned parent epics.
